Techneat Engineering now has a full range of Positive Balance front mounted tanks that offer a low cost option to significantly increase sprayer output and efficiency - contributing to a positive bank balance - as well as assisting with tractor weight balance for improved operation and minimum soil damage.
The new Techneat Positive Balance front mounted tank range includes three-point linkage and frame mounted tanks with capacity from 250 to 1000 litres. Front mounted tanks can be utilised with mounted or trailed sprayers.
With ever increasing farm size sprayer capacity for many arable units is being stretched to breaking point. Fungicide specialists calculate every day’s delay in T1 applications past the optimum GS30 timing costs over £6/ha in lost yield potential. A three day delay across a 750-hectare farm in a catchy spring would lose over £13,000 in crop yield.
Increasing the carrying capacity of a sprayer by 50% with a front mounted tank, combined with reducing application volume from 200 to 100 l/ha, could in practice increase daily sprayer output by over 66%, calculates application specialist, Tom Neat. “Reduced water volume applications also tend to improve the efficacy of most fungicide and herbicide applications in cereal crops,” he adds.
Trading in a farm’s 2000 litre sprayer for a new 3000 litre model could cost well in excess of £10,000.
In difficult soil conditions, splitting water volume between a front mounted tank and rear mounted or trailed sprayer will significantly improve weight distribution and tractor balance, which could make the all difference in physically being able to get on the land or not.
The front mounted tanks are custom moulded in Ely by Techneat Engineering from tough and abrasion resistant polyethylene.
